The Eastern Cape Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism (DEDEAT) hosted the Premier’s Imbizo build-up session at Mqhekezweni’s Great Place on 24 August 2023.
In a collaborative effort, DEDEAT joined forces with public entities and sister departments, including the national Department of Small Business Development to present various public products and services.
The session provided comprehensive business information support and development opportunities, particularly targeting designated groups. With a strong emphasis on promoting entrepreneurship, the event showcased and facilitated business ideation, business concept development, business registration, compliance adherence, and other crucial services. Additionally, consumer awareness, complaints management and environmental management were covered during the event.
The build-up session was designed to contribute to the forthcoming Premier’s Imbizo in Mqhekezweni, set to take place on 26 August 2024.
Approximately 200 community members participated with the team targeting active and aspiring businesswomen and youth while community members were welcomed.
Mqhekezweni is under King Sabata Dalindyebo (KSD) Local Municipality.
