MEC PIETERS HITTING THE GROUND RUNNING

MEC Nonkqubela Pieters is making rounds engaging with critical stakeholders and public entities leadership to introduce herself and hold high-level engagements focusing on critical issues, respective mandates, and priorities of the 7th administration.

Today, 11 July 2024, she started with a meet and greet with DEDEAT’s organised labour, recognising the critical role of this stakeholder in fostering effective relations and joint responsibility in implementing DEDEAT’s mandate. This was followed by her meetings with the Eastern Cape Liquor Board and the Eastern Cape Gambling Board.

MEC’s message has been consistent throughout the day, primarily outlining government priorities for the 7th term and the role of stakeholders in achieving these priorities within DEDEAT’s mandate.

“We are called upon to do more and faster in line with the priorities of this government, which include putting the province to work, building industries to grow an inclusive economy that creates employment, dealing with the high cost of living, investing in our people, defending democracy, and building a better Eastern Cape, which will snowball into a better South Africa,” says the MEC.

“I expect that we all identify the roles we are to play to advance these priorities as a group, together with various stakeholders, and to impact the lives of the people of the Eastern Cape. I expect less talk, more action, faster, and with more agility.”
